FBC Cafe is a casual café nestled within the Finchampstead Baptist Church & Centre, serving the local Wokingham community with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. It functions as a versatile spot where families, friends, and individuals converge to enjoy good coffee and simple meals without the formalities of a restaurant setting.

Visitors quickly notice the spacious, clean interior combined with a dedicated kids’ play area, making it a natural choice for parents looking for a place where their children can be entertained while they catch up over a pot of tea or coffee. The presence of a small library adds a quiet corner for reading or meeting up, which especially appeals to locals with children or those seeking a community hub.

The café’s seating extends outdoors, though its use depends on the weather; rainy days might keep patrons inside where the buzz of conversations and the occasional noise from busy periods is part of the everyday backdrop. The café gets noticeably lively around mid-morning and lunchtime, with visitors comfortably filling the tables for casual meals. The food menu includes a variety of sandwiches, paninis, baguettes, and cake options, catering well to those looking for a light bite or a simple lunch. The breakfast offerings, although appreciated, have limited hours which some regulars find a bit restrictive.

Parking can present a challenge during busy times, reflecting its popularity among locals and visitors alike. Overall, FBC Cafe suits families, neighborhood groups, and anyone after a relaxed place to enjoy straightforward, homey fare alongside a well-made coffee. It’s particularly well-suited for daytime visits when families come for both socialising and practical needs such as a calm spot to read or let children play.

A nice café to sit in. Clean, spacious and with kids play area. Good selection of sandwiches / toasties / paninis and baguettes, as well as cakes and hot drinks. Friendly staff.

My 7-year-old daughter loves it here. She enjoys visiting the library and meeting up with her friends in the cafe and playground. The food is good and varied choices. We only wish that the breakfast menu went beyond 11:30.

Had a very nice bacon and sausage baguette and pot of tea. There were a lot of people in the cafe and quite noisy. Car parking was a little difficult. Nice outdoor section but unable to use due to poor weather. Will visit again
